Bro a Bryn Draig Ysgafn (pronounced “us-gavin”) is a strapping big Section D Cob gelding, of substance and sweet nature. He was born with a calm, willing, trusting temperament – absolutely nothing rattles him. Like his full siblings before him, Gavin is one of the most people-oriented Cobs we have produced. He always comes when called out on pasture. Gavin receives lots of handling and has great ground manners. He is well-suited for combined training and driving.
Gavin has internationally renowned Welsh Cob bloodlines. His imported sire, Trefaes Mabon Victor, is by Fronarth Victor, who had multiple Royal Welsh wins including reserve George Prince of Wales Cup winner to his dam, Fronarth Boneddiges. Fronarth Victor sired the 2010 George Prince of Wales Cup winner Haighmoor Glain. Fronarth Victor’s sire Ebbw Victor was one of the most sought-after stallions in the history of the breed, winning among many other top awards, the George Prince of Wales Cup.
Gavin’s imported dam, Llanarth Non, is by Crugybar Mabon Mai, who sired her half-brother Gwynfaes Culhwch, the 2002 George Prince of Wales Cup winner. Cryugybar Mabon Mai descends from Derwen Railway Express, Nebo Black Magic (George Prince of Wales Cup winner), and Pentre Eiddwen Comet (George Prince of Wales Cup winner). Llanarth Non’s dam, Llanarth Nellie, is by Llanarth Lord Nelson and descends from the renowned stallions Tyhen Comet, Pentre Eiddwen Comet, Llanarth True Briton, and Nebo Black Magic.
With the finest bloodlines available in North America, Gavin will make a superb sporthorse, as well as your best friend.
